Helpful Tips for Visiting Wrigley Field

Posted on Oct 15th 2018

No visit to "The Windy City" would be complete without a visit to the second oldest park in major league baseball: Wrigley Field. Second in age only to Boston's Fenway Park, Wrigley Field is home to the Chicago Cubs stadium and nearly 100 years old.

When you're helping friends and family have the best possible experience when visiting Wrigley Field, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Here are our top tips for a fun-filled game day.

#1 Wear the Right Gear

What's the right gear? Cubbies gear, of course. Because the major league baseball season runs from Spring to Fall, it's important to be prepared for the weather you'll experience. It could be hot, it could be chilly. Arrive at the stadium ready to support your home team whether it's sweatshirt or jersey weather.

#2 Know Your Wrigley Seating

Not everyone wants to spring for premium seats, especially if you're planning for a large group to watch the game. But, that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the best plays of the game. While you can certainly opt for rooftop seats that are pricier, all the fanfare and excitement of watching a Cubs game is in the bleachers. Hint: Save money on tickets if you choose Fall games.

#3 Plan Your Parking Strategy in Advance

Let's face it: Fans are scrambling to get to the bleachers and Wrigley parking can be hectic as a result. Map our your parking options before heading to the Chicago Cubs stadium to make finding a spot seamless. If you're on a budget and don't have any issues walking, Wrigley Field has free remote parking available. For family and friends with special needs, call the stadium in advance for ADA options.

#4 Get a First Timer's Certificate

Want a free souvenir to remember the experience? Take any first-time guests to the First Timer's Booth for a free personalized certificate commemorating the experience. This is a great, affordable way for guests of all ages to obtain a keepsake from the day.

#5 Take a Tour of Wrigley Field

Plan to build up the excitement before going to the game? If you have a non-game day free, consider taking a tour of Wrigley Field. Tours of the historic Chicago Cubs stadium are pre-scheduled and feature a behind-the-scenes look at the stadium and home team. Have a huge family or group of friends? Tours are discounted for groups of 30 or more.

#6 Grab an Autograph or Two

Die-hard Cubs fans don't want to miss an opportunity to own a piece of history. Stick around after the game and come prepared with your favorite Cubs memorabilia, like a baseball cap or visor. Have your permanent marker ready to capture your favorite players' signatures.

#7 Be a Winner: Participate in the 50/50 Raffle

Ticketholders can play to pay at Wrigley Field by purchasing a 50/50 raffle ticket from uniformed ticket sellers at the game. Enter to win up to two hours before the game starts. The winner is announced in the 7th inning. If you win, you receive 50% of the raffle sales all while helping Cubs' charities.
